Therefore, the relevant departments of our country attach great importance to the foundry mould industry. The mould is listed as a key scientific research project in the "Sixth Five-Year Plan" and "Seventh Five-Year Plan". People are sent abroad to study and inspect, advanced technology of foreign foundry mould is introduced, and Chinese standards for foundry mould are formulated. Through these measures, the foundry die industry has made great progress and made breakthroughs in some technologies.

In order to shorten the die making cycle and improve the market competitiveness, more and more die enterprises adopt high-speed cutting technology. HSM is generally used for processing large and medium-sized dies, such as automobile panel dies, die-casting dies, large plastic dies and other surface processing, its surface processing accuracy can reach 0.01mm. The application of NC high-speed milling technology in production can greatly shorten the time of moulding. After high-speed milling and finishing, the die surface can be used only with a little polishing, which saves a lot of grinding and polishing time. Increasing NC high-speed milling machine is one of the focuses of equipment investment in die and mould enterprises. Electrical discharge machining (EDM) is an indispensable process in the manufacturing of casting die. EDM is still an effective method for processing deep and small cavity after quenching.

Users demand that the delivery period of the mould be shorter and shorter, and the price of the mould be lower and lower. In order to ensure timely delivery, effective cost management and control have become the main factors for the survival and development of die and mould enterprises. To adopt advanced management information system and realize integrated management is an urgent task for die and mould enterprises, especially large-scale die and mould enterprises.
